Layla Azeez

Layla Azeez is a Canadian children's author and the founder of Little Mirrors Books, where she creates heartwarming stories that celebrate faith, family, kindness, and the everyday moments that help children feel seen and loved.

Originally from India, Layla immigrated to Canada more than ten years ago and now lives in British Columbia, Canada, with her husband and their energetic toddler son.

By profession, she is a software engineer with a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and an MBA from the University of Southampton. Although technology is her career, storytelling has always been close to her heart.

After becoming a mother, she began searching for children's books that reflected the warmth of Muslim family life in a way her son could truly recognize. That search inspired her to write the stories she wished existed: gentle, joyful books where children can see themselves, their families, and their faith with confidence and belonging.

Many of the moments in her stories are drawn from real family memories, small, ordinary moments that remind her how children experience the world with honesty, wonder, and extraordinary generosity.

When she isn't writing or working, Layla enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading, and noticing the little moments that inspire her next story.
